Clay Walker Concert :)

I've decided I'm going to post a few different blog posts to describe the happenings in my life lately, instead of mushing them all together in one huge post. A week ago my mom flew me down to Texas for the weekend to go see a Clay Walker concert with her at Billy Bob's in Ft. Worth. I had such a blast!! In case you guys didn't know, I've been in love with Clay Walker since I was little, and I just couldn't wait to be in the same room with that hunk. ;)

The start of my journey was a little scary...I'm not a fan of flying, and when I was due to fly out of SLC, some of the roads were closed to traffic because of high wind. I was surprised they didn't delay my flight, but we flew out of that airport during 80mph winds. I was petrified. I have never been on a flight with so much turbulence, for about 20 minutes straight. Some people in the back were comparing it to a roller-coaster. No thanks. The man beside me started whistling during all the commotion, which made me feel better, surprisingly. :)

On a side note, to show you guys how much of a procrastinator I am, I didn't even buy my ticket until 1am on Thursday morning (when I had to pack and get to the airport by 6am), using priceline. If you guys have ever bought plane tickets from that website, you would know that you don't get to find out the times of your flight until after you pay for the ticket. (Oh yeah, I'm such a risk taker..) Btw, cheapest way to get tickets if you aren't picky. So I got a straight thru (no layover!), round trip ticket to Texas for the grand total of $360 bucks. Go me. :)

Anyways...Wow, I tend to ramble.lol So my mom and I went to the stockyards where I met my friend Cheri, and her boyfriend Dustin. I missed her! I hadn't seen her in over a year! I'm so glad they got to come! Here's a picture of us. :)

Love that girl. :)

So after my mom and I sang a little karaoke (always a must), we headed over to Billy Bob's for the concert. Only problem was, we already had reserved seating tickets, and they didn't. So they got these awesome seats that just happened to be available on the front row, while mom and I were off to the right of the stage. Well, we decided to ask if just by chance, they might have any tickets closer to Cheri and Dustin. They did, the next table over, which also happened to be 5 feet away from Clay Walker. :) So we bought them, and I turned around and sold our tickets to the guys in line behind us, who were grateful. Now I will post a couple pics from the concert.

Did I mention we were 5 FEET AWAY from him?! :)
Me and my gorgeous mom :)

I had just gotten done taking a picture of him. I was pretty giddy. :))

Okay, enough picture spam. Now to tell you guys the most amazing event of the night. Clay Walker was getting ready to walk off the stage, and the spotlight was facing the audience, so he could see all of us. I stood up, and blew him a kiss and, Cheri as my witness, he looked right at me, smiled, and blew me a kiss right back. I think I just about fainted. Immediately after I turned to Cheri where she mouthed the words "Clay friggan Walker just blew a kiss at you!!!" Let's just say my night was made. :) I had an awesome time in Texas.

That's me, the slacker...

Wow, I have been seriously slackin' on this blog. Well the truth is, I work just about every waking moment of my life. It's sad really. So by the time I get home I just don't have the energy to try and be entertaining for you guys. But here goes anyway..

So I figure I would finally post pictures of Mike and I's thanksgiving dinner. I made green bean casserole, yams with marshmallows, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie, deviled eggs, stuffing, and of course the turkey. Here's how it all came out...

I can't believe we cooked that much food for two people.lol It came out great though. :) Here's more random pictures of Mike and I's first thanksgiving without family...

We forgot to get a turkey baster from the store, so Mike went out and bought a baby aspirator instead..haha :)

I was really proud of our little feast. :)

Let's start at the beginning...

Okay, so I've been wanting to start a blog for a while, but every time I get close the thought of "who's going to read this stuff" pops into my mind. Well as you can see, I started it anyway. If anything I now have somewhere to vent a little, and maybe even fill in everyone back home so they can keep track of me every now and then. I don't promise it will be entertaining or even make sense, but here goes...

So the day after tomorrow is Thanksgiving. Mike is flying in from Texas tomorrow after being gone on a fire roll for two 1/2 weeks, so we've decided to keep it simple and just have a quiet holiday to ourselves. It will be nice to actually spend some time together, since I don't even remember the last time we had more than just a few days together without the threat of him leaving abruptly. Neither one of us have ever cooked a Thanksgiving dinner by ourselves, so this should be interesting. I have more faith in Mike's cooking skills than my own. I'm sure there will be pictures to come.

The holidays coming up has me missing my family, but I am considerably less homesick than I was when we first moved to Utah in January. Guess it's a part of growing up. In case you guys didn't know, I finally turned 20 last week! Haha, I know, how exciting. On another note, I also may be less homesick because I know I am flying in to go see my family the weekend of December 2nd! My mom is taking me to see a Clay Walker concert at Billy Bob's in Fort Worth. Ahh, Clay Walker, only the man I have been in love with since I was probably about 4 years old (Sorry Mike!). :) I am definitely looking forward to that.

Well, I will keep this short and sweet. (And boring, I'm sure some of you are thinking) Got to get up early to go to work and wrangle a bunch of rugrats!
